Bucolic versus bubonic

In fairness to Vic he taught me a new word. 'Bucolic' which an ideal countryside environment many people yearn for.

When he asked me to put it in a sentence I suggested the folowing:

"Following a period of life in a bucolic village the rats got bored and the resulting bubonic plague killed 25 million people in 1347". I firmly believe, as indeed do many distinguished scholar, that something got lost or switched in translation.
